The Purpose of the Zone is to support redevelopment plans and infrastructure improvements needed to facilitate planned residential and commercial developments in an area of the City generally known as Timbergrove. The Original Zone consisted of approximately 92 acres with a primary purpose of construction of East T.C. Jester Boulevard. In 2020, the Zone was expanded to include an additional 593 acres, with a fundamental goal on the design and construction of stormwater infrastructure improvements needed to address flooding issues in the area. The goals of the Zone include, (1) storm water drainage, detention and flood mitigation; (2) mobility and infrastructure improvements; and, (3) parks, recreation, trails and pedestrian improvements.
